The PAC could have just accepted ESPN's offer, added Boise and SDSU and

they could have continued doing their thing. Never make ESPN angry (ask Big East football and PAC12 how that turned out).
Utah's arrogance is the source of its current misery. That the Utes hated on the B12 and claimed they were going to dominate the conference made everything better.
