Putting NIL aside, this simply wouldn’t have happened 10 years ago. Kids were choosing Utah over BYU. Utah was encroaching upon BYUs territory. South of the point of the mountain Utah couldn’t get very many kids, but that changed after they got into the PAC 12, they started getting kids they weren’t getting 10 years prior. Now, starting with Clegg and Tanuvasa, I think you’ll start to see that flip back. With Hill at DC, Pou’ha on the DL, and NIL that Utah can’t compete with, we should be able to change DL and defensive recruiting for a long time.
