He has grown as a coach and is a much improved coach now. But, he changed BYU, the image of BYU and the direction of the program.
People seem to forget that BYU was kind of lost. The program wasn't "cool" to kids, the game dat experience was so lacking and we needed a lot of help.
From day one of Kalani hire he brought that change. I'm confident that BYU would not be where they are today without him.
Kalani has changed the image of BYU big time! Receipts feel that BYU is a fun place to play. And a cool team to be part of. Image means a lot, Kalani changed that and is continuing to improve that. Also, Holmoe and Reese have been on board and I'm so glad they are willing to let Kalani do what he does best.
Allowing him to grow as a HC was a great decision.
