Both were probably the right guys for the job given the time and circumstances into which they were hired.
I think BYU can and is going places under Kalani that would've been hard for Bronco to replicate, but that's impossible to know.
What I believe I am seeing is that BYU is getting much, much closer to its best version of itself in terms of culture, funding, competitiveness on a big stage, and institutional alignment towards competitive football while representing the university extremely well to the world.
Whether by causation, association, or a bit of both, that is happening under Kalani.
