Did the committee give byes to ASU & BSU to keep them from hosting 1st round
Games on the blue turf in Boise & @ ASU?
Think about it—you had opening round games @ powerhouses like Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, & Texas. Boise and Tempe weren’t anywhere near that sell.
It’s my theory the committee, driven by marketing, based seeding on the above as priority #1.
The result: a wonky unbalanced 2nd round where Oregon / OSU is totally unfair matchup for Oregon.
