I can enjoy successes. The defense was amazing. The special teams played great. The O line was greatly improved .
It seems like to many want to avoid the negatives and pretend they don't exist. And throw a tantrum whenever people point out the negatives.
How did BYU finally get a good DC? Because fans kept complaining about the bad DC. KS couldn't ignore it anymore.
Likewise, we had a bad O-line coach. Eventually KS couldn't ignore the criticism.
It seems like too many don't want to be better and want to accept a bowl game win as a great season, when we were 9-0 and looking at a 1st round bye.
Tonight was a great win, but we can still look at what should have been and what caused BYU not to play in the CFP. That has simple answer, as everyone like you don't want to talk about.
It is possible to celebrate this as a great season and also admit that we will likely not do better next season unless JR is demoted. He isn't good enough. There was a reason he had ZERO offers out of a really good high school and it was not just Covid. JR is a decent game manager and tries hard, but isn't accurate deep and makes a ton of bad decisions and isn't getting better.
So, next year we might get Pop Tarts if we are lucky...... but let's not pretend that this team wasn't hurt this season by JR's bad play or AR's questionable playcalling at times. We would be better off with a different QB1.
