Took my child to the endocrinologist yesterday
This is not my child with type one diabetes. Another child is in the early stages of Hashimoto’s, the autoimmune attack on the thyroid. He is compensating right now, but eventually we’ll have to go on thyroid replacement.

There’s a lot of evidence in studies that vitamin D, selenium, zinc, and magnesium can help slow the progression of Hashimoto’s. As well as cleaning up your diet and eating gluten-free. My child is already gluten-free. I brought these up with our provider yesterday and they knew absolutely nothing about any of it, absolutely mind blowing. It is really sad how we have to be our own advocate and our own doctors sometimes. How do you live neck deep in these diseases every day and not know about some simple remedies that can slow auto immune progression?

Anybody else deal with Hashimoto’s? Did you know this about these different supplements? Anything else I should know?
