But it seems like most people are happy with it. I don’t think it’s my favorite of the Stormlight books, but it’s definitely got some high points, and some of the character development I absolutely love.
The Way of Kings is still my favorite of the five, but I know a lot of people like the next two better. I like Words of Radiance and Oathbringer a lot. Rhythm of War may be my least favorite in the group (but since it’s part of my favorite series it’s still one of my favorite books when compared with everything else I’ve read). Wind and Truth has some moments that are on par with Way of Kings for me, but I don’t know if I’d put it up with that one overall.
In the end, I think it’s a solid addition to the Stormlight Archive. If you like the series, you’ll probably be happy with the book. It’s worth reading even at 1300+ pages, and Brandon always does a good job rewarding the time you put into it.
