Meh, probably a troll job by the OP but I’ve always noticed every single fanbase loves the “we were X amount of points from being undefeated or 6-6” depending on the narrative they wanna push. The reality is that things usually even out over the course of a full season and you are what your record says you are.
However, I am seeing plenty of blue goggles this offseason in other areas that’s cringeworthy. Such as when a BYU player enters the portal, it’s all about us getting down to 105, but every Ute that leaves is a major contributor and their program is on the outs. If you really look at it objectively, yeah they’ve lost a few big time guys, but they managed to keep all of their “franchise” type guys outta the portal (Fano Bros, Snowden, etc.) and the bulk of their losses are guys with low snap counts/little to no contributions of note.
My worry is that as usual, their defense will be fine next year and it’s gonna be really hard for Beck and a new cast of offensive characters to be as bad as what they had this past season. We don’t need to jinx their rebound into existence by dismissing them completely but that’s just the eternal worry of my sports fandom.
