Just because you hate the Cougars, their coaches and players doesn't mean you know what a good coach an/or a good player is. I'll trust the experts and professionals know what they are doing. Plus, literally scoreboard. 8 teams joined P4/P5 conferences from not P4/5 conference from 2015 to 2023. BYU is the only one to win more than 8 games in either of their first 2 seasons. Most of the other 7 teams had actually already been P5 teams in previous lives and still had much worse records than the Cougars.

SMU bought a good team and has a barely better record this year. Like, literally spent 10s of millions to buy the team.
