PE won't tolerate the traditional financial model of college athletics (i.e. chronic deficit spending). It's probably going to be the force that finally makes athletic departments to get their house in order and operate with common business sense.

If it ends up removing ivory tower academics from driving all of the major decisions and replacing them with people of competent expertise, it may just save the sport from itself.
