everyone as we then face doctor shortages after years of time and money spent on training. A young doctor lost now has a devastating ripple effect through the future of time.
Such a tragedy. My heart breaks as I look at these two beautiful children. I just wish I could take them into my home and give them all the care and love they deserve, but they are gone. Their mother is left alone.
I'm not in healthcare, but I have a LOT of family that is, including two nephews early on in med school at this moment. THE BURDENS PLACED ON THESE YOUNG MEDICAL STUDENTS AND PROFESSIONALS HAS TO CHANGE. We need to spread the workload with more schools and more trainees, and cut down on work hours for residents. But nobody wants to look at the human cost beyond the individual doctor in training, and he/she is just told to toughen up or over-scrutinized for seeking help. Nobody considers the harm done to the children and families. Why can't we do a little bit better at taking care of one another?
