Hunter’s only accolades are that he is a two-way player. If you take just his WR
stats or defensive stats, he doesn’t even sniff the prize. Jeanty is on the verge of breaking Barry Sander’s record. He was robbed.

No. Just bad timing.
DKN

Robbed by the fickle fairies of happenstance, not by the misjudgment of voters

If you say he was robbed you agree with Mark Harlan

Yes, PFF graded him at 95.8; meanwhile:

How does PFF grade a two-way player?
Madam Pattirini

Kind of like Taysom. His NFL value is far beyond just the stats.
Forzaitalia

Good comparison. Taysom isn’t top of any group, but very good at many

How do they grade anything? I’m sure they explain on their website ir something, but

I would guess if he played just one way he would have graded out much higher. Playing over 100 snaps a game has to

Can't base awards on hypotheticals.
Soupie
2:31pm
No, but you credit a kid that plays both ways.
Pee Wee Reese
2:45pm
That’s precisely why T Hunter won. Deal in what “is”… a high draftable player for either side of the ball.
SolidBlue

The ability to do that at a high level is pretty amazing though
fulano

Umm, playing both ways at a very high level is a really big deal. How many guys

I feel like more players could pull it off if given the chance. Lots of high

If they could, they would. There's a reason they don't. Because it's next to

And Hunter did it on both sides, which nobody else does, bc nobody else

"only accolades"... except for all of these other national accolades:

5th best WR receiving grade, best coverage grade, #2 ovr D grade for CBs on PFF.
molodyets

5th best is still 5th. Not 1st. Pick a position & if you play both, you'll sacrifice quality in them both.

The Heisman is supposed to go to the best football player in college football.
Metallicat
2:52pm
Why would you just take his Off or Def stats? As a player he did both. It’s like

I like Jeanty. To be fair to Hunter, though, his stats are pretty crazy. Esp when you adjust for how many times

"a top" not THE top. The Heisman should be for THE top.
Soupie

The top what? RB? QB? WR? No. The top football player. That was Travis Hunter.
Metallicat
9:03pm
Disagree that playing both ways in & of itself makes him the best player.
Soupie
9:05pm
It’s not just that he played both ways. He was elite on both sides of the ball.

Robbed?? But I definitely think he was more deserving than Hunter

I actually wonder if we see this borne out in the playoffs

I would have voted for Jeanty but can see a case for both. Feel Hunter's unique play & a really great PR

I know CB has a weird bias against ASU, but Skattebo was better than both
