that's exactly where I'd go. But that's because I can still get to work if they keep my car for a week, and if push comes to shove and my "I'll sue you if you don't give it back" demand letter doesn't work, I can afford to pay $75/day for several days.

As an 18-22 yr old college student, I didn't have that know-how, and the cost of victory would have been too high... I would have been without a car for a week, so I would probably have lost my job (can't get from Provo to American Fork very quickly without a car). My grades would have suffered (now taking a lot longer to get from place to place, so I have less time to study). And if I lost, and had to pay something like $375 or $500, I'd have to take out a loan or drop out of school.
