Stayed there last year. Its right on the beach, walk to poipu. Has access to the rec center across the street. Can rent surfboards right there.

Kauai is small enough you can do the whole island easily if you're staying anywhere between poipu and princeville.

Would highly recommend the kalalau trail to hanakapai beach and the waterfall. You'll need to get reservations for that so look now for the dates and times you need to get on to make reservations.

Also, drive up waimea canyon to the kalalau valley overlook.
