Upgrading the heat diffuser plate was one of the best things I’ve done with mine
Spreads the fire/heat out WAY better than that thin piece of garbage.
The blanket covering helps a lot too with retaining heat which should spread somewhat evenly with the fan.

FYI, my Traeger sucks...bad. I have to rotate meat because of hot and cold spots

This is common with Traegers. If you don't remove the drippings regularly . .

Do you leave yours outside ( even covered under a covered patio or similar area?) or do you keep it in the garage?

I have Traeger and have no issues. Sounds like you bought a lemon.

Mine produces a lot of direct heat. Insulated blanket helps a little.
