I literally did take it to the dump. Been grilling and smoking for 25 years, had every level of machine, never saw anything like it. Piece of junk.

This is common with Traegers. If you don't remove the drippings regularly . .

I have Traeger and have no issues. Sounds like you bought a lemon.

Mine produces a lot of direct heat. Insulated blanket helps a little.
