vehicle use. They're great at that so congratulations EV lovers.
But they are terrible for road trips and they're bad at even medium length trips. Say you go to Moab for the weekend. Great, you got there. Now you need to find a place that has a charger and isn't inconvenient. Huge hassle.
Speaking of Moab, they're bad as off-roaders unless you are going off road immediately after recharging and you aren't going far.
They're terrible as enthusiast cars. They don't do the things people buy enthusiast cars for. The new Model 3 P is vastly improved performance wise, but drive one 50+ miles from SL County to UMC, drive it on the track during a 1hr session, and then drive it home. Will it make it? Maybe, but I'd be nervous.
Every use case that doesn't involve charging at home where you are going somewhere close is not for EVs. Like I said, that's great for the majority of uses of a vehicle.
They're too expensive, they depreciate like crazy, they wear through tires super fast because they're so heavy, and they are almost always ugly.
