Don't you think that Georgia (playing with an injured starting QB and an injured starting HB) would value that extra time off?
Don't you think that Boise feels like they could really use that extra week to get Jeanty fully healthy?
It seems to me that the odds of a crucial injury go up 1) the later in the season it gets and 2) the more games a team has to play. Teams that start 3 games from the championship have better odds of getting there healthy than those that start 4 games away, IMO (and, of course, all this is holding aside the fact that Oregon, Boise, ASU, and Clemson actually did start 4 games away—they played in their conference championship games while everyone else sat idle).
