1. CCG ticket sales are in the tank. ISU is having their best season in history, literally and demand is far lower than anyone thought. That's a bad sign. Demand will be even lower for the Alamo if they lose.
2. Alamo bowl relies more heavily than other bowls on game day revenue and slightly less on TV revenue (either way BYU still draws more TV eyeballs). BYU will sell more tickets.
3. City officials on the Alamo bowl board know all about the BYU fan base. A few years ago President Nelson held a regional conference at the Alamo Dome and filled it. More attendance for a Sunday service than a UTSA game.
4. ISU has been to Alamo Bowl before. New teams and new matchups are always attractive. Especially down here in Texas where Iowa State is a known entity and not one that anyone cares much about. BYU is something new and different.
