... not sure on Jake making the big improvement because so much of his problems involve his throwing mechanics and mental approach. It's like he's half Riley Nelson and half Jake Heaps, for good and bad, with heavy doses of the worst traits from each.
Has Riley's moxie and competitive spirit but crumbles under pressure like Jake. Has good arm talent like Jake and decent wheels like Riley but he can't make easy throws to open players in the flat, on screens or on curl routes just past the LOS.
He does just enough good things that we get into the red zone with chances to score but then can't convert 3rd downs and keep drives going consistently and commits panic turnovers under pressure.
There's a lot for him to overcome to lead the offense to the level of a conference championship team. I'm not confident he can make that big of a leap in just one off-season.
