I have a kid who fell into the counter and his tooth went through his lip. It stopped bleeding after about 5-10 minutes. But since there was still an urgent care open I decided to take him in. I got there about 15 minutes before they closed. The lady measured the cut (1 centimeter on the inside of the lip and 1/4 of a centimeter on the outside)
I am not sure what level medical training she was but she said she doesn't have any experience with cuts inside the mouth and thinks we should go to the ER to see what they say. She did say she didn't think the outside of the lip needed stitches but thought maybe the inside would.
It's not bleeding and I don't really care if there is a scar on the inside of his lip. Is this ER trip worthy?
