I think your argument has merit but answer me this
The committee’s job is to pick the 7 best teams in the country (the champs are automatically in). Is BYU better than Alabama? I don’t care about résumé could BYU beat Alabama?
How about Iowa state? Arizona State? Could they beat Alabama? Obviously there’s a chance anything could happen Alabama blows out any of those three teams 8 out of 10 times.
