I don’t think it has anything to do with church membership. It’s an academic thing and is universal. Would Cal grads
like it if UC Merced grads said they “graduated from Cal”?
They’re both just different schools in the University of California system. 🤷🏼♂️
It’s ok for two different schools to be recognized as two different schools. They are actually very different.
It has absolutely nothing to do with worthiness or church membership, which is weird way to look at it.
And if I were to make an association about being a “better member” it would be with BYU-I. Here in AZ, if you don’t get into BYU you’re more likely to attend ASU or something. If you choose to go to Rexberg it’s because the church is your primary consideration in choosing your school.
