is more like a no-OL middle screen, but sometimes it is a true drag.
I think with Hall they definitely threw it to the edge more because he was so accurate, and as you said, throwing over the middle is more risky. However, he has thrown over the middle more with Retzlaff I think in part because he isn't as accurate to the sidelines.
I am not sure how many passes we want short over the middle, depending on how we define short. I am good with slants and 10-yard digs/ins. Especially if the goal is to pull LBs up through the run threat (even without true play action).
Agree re the Hill play. It worked beautifully against Kansas. I would like to see that more if we continue to regularly keep our TEs in to block (which is curious in an of itself).
