4) Time management is absolutely bizarre. Not only is BYU one of the worst at the end of the half/game, but it seems as though they never break the huddle until there is only 10-11 seconds on the clock and you often see the players scrambling and trying to get into position with no time left for anything. I believe this leads to too many timeouts being burnt as well as generally a lack of coordination for the team. They begin the play feeling frantic, and it shows in their execution.
I don't know if this is intentional, or simply a result of being very slow to get the play down, but it is bizarre to observe and I don't see it with this consistency on any other team I watch. On Saturday night I watched Jake more than once put his hand to his helmet (like he was listening) followed by a fairly frantic discussion relaying something to the team with sub 12 seconds on the clock AFTER a media timeout.
