My BIL is in the Navy and was recently transferred from Japan to the US
so they packed all their stuff in a container ship that took several military months to arrive.
When they started unloading it, they found a loaf of Orowheat bread that wasn't supposed to make the move.
Not moldy or rotten. Just obviously pumped full of chemicals and preservatives.
Homemade stuff lasts less than a week.
