To wrap up the game at ASU from someone who was there…..
ASUs stands on both sides have a walk way down into the field. They do have to pass through a chain link fence and gate. Their security opened up the gates and guided the students onto the field. This is a stark contrast to byu who has security and police surrounding the goal posts and we have no stairs from the stands.

Now regarding the fiasco. The refs stood there ground but also caved.

They stood their ground saying there was a second left on the clock at the end. They caved to fear by not telling the teams to go to the locker rooms until the field was cleared. I saw two fights between byu players and fans as the fans taunted and also struck byu players. Fortunately byu staff got between them fast. Of course this happened again after the second end of the game. It was a joke the asu fans were in the field just not in bounds. This was an environment rife for problems. Fortunately BYU’s staff was now prepared and after the second ending quickly shuttled the team off the field there were still plenty of problems that were caught on film twitter etc. and plenty that weren’t. It doesn’t help that many were inebriated. I know alcohol is part of the equation and sporting events but man why do people get smashed. We had four ASU fans in front of us and each one had 4 tall boys during the course of the game. One had to be helped out of the stands as they left early. The other three were wobbling down the stairs carrying him.

Finally the refs chickened out in the end. Chase had his defender all over him and despite that caught the ball. So that should have been a PI or holding which would have been another play with no time on the clock from the one yard line.

Also the students were on chase as he was getting tackled.

It will be interesting to see what Yormark does if anything.

This also doesn’t take into account Dillinghams behavior in the field as the refs were reviewing the call. He swore at and threatened the refs.

That should have been a penalty as well

I must say Kalani was out coolly and calmly discussing this with the refs as dillingham is going off his rocker

That’s it. This has been a fun season it has surpassed my expectations and yes it has been disappointing to lose the last two games but 9-0 was a blast
