Ah, yes, the old “other conferences have beaten the worst SEC teams, so the SEC isn’t good” argument
Miami destroyed @Florida (#12 in SEC)
Cal beat @Auburn (#14 in SEC)
@ASU beat Miss St. (#16 in SEC)
@Georgia State beat Vandy (#10 in SEC)
USC beat @LSU (#9 in SEC)
ND beat @TA&M (#6 Notre Dame beating #2 in SEC means the SEC is bad?)
@OK St. beat Arkansas (#11 in SEC)
The SEC is 10-5 against other Power Conferences. Then you have 9-9 ACC, 7-9 Big 10, and 5-9 Big 12.
I don’t understand why everyone keeps arguing that the top half of the SEC/B1G should be punished for their conference mates being bad when they win those games.
None of the teams you mention are in the conversation for the playoffs, aside from Texas A&M (who lost to a playoff team). Saying “Mississippi State sucks so Georgia shouldn’t be in the playoff” makes zero sense.
