G5s (especially those without the history of Boise St) don't get as much credit, but there's a reason Army is rising.
And I do have issues with where Miami is ranked, substantially more than I do with where Boise St is ranked. Putting Miami well ahead of SMU and BYU is crazy to me.
Same story on Texas. That's a bad rank in my mind. I don't have an issue with them somewhat ahead of us, but they've had a strangely easy schedule for being in the SEC. Like I said, I'm Ok with them ahead of us... but it should be a lot closer than it is.
That part there is absolutely SEC bias in that they can't imagine the 'top' SEC team not in the top 5 and it has to be Texas. But they've missed all the tough SEC teams on their schedule and are somehow still benefitting from SEC association and the assumption that they've played an SEC schedule so it must have been tough (even if not completely true).
So there's complaints to be had about Miami and Texas for sure. I'll add Notre Dame to the list. But instead, we keep focusing on punching down on Boise St in the weaker conference.... while having the same thing happen to us from stronger conferences. Which I think is why it's so frustrating for me seeing us attack Boise's rank instead of Texas or the like
