In Arizona, we had amazing dollar for dollar tax credits when donating to school
Sports. There was a cap.
The high school golf coach offered to float people $200 to donate to the golf team and they could pay him back when tax returns came. He only made the offer to people he knew were good for it. The golf team was always funded properly.
