Koreans have an interesting tradition to stop bed-wetting.
They have the bed-wetter wear a rice sifting basket on their head and send them to the neighbors to borrow salt while wearing the basket. The neighbor, seeing a child with a basket on their head asking for salt goes and gives them a bit of salt to hold. The neighbor then begins to scold them and sometimes lightly whip them with a switch or something and tells them that they need to stop wetting the bed. The kid, having been shamed by the neighbors then returns home in tears. They say it works like a charm. But nobody really does it anymore. Something about long-term psychological damage or something.
