My guess was they were going slower than he was and probably felt like they cut
him off.

Not agreeing with him, just my thoughts on your question and his answer.

From my personal experience, when you are driving a semi that is much harder to stop than a car. They really didn't give a lot of notice and as soon as they signaled, they moved over. If it had been a car, probably no problem, but with him being in a semi-truck, and if he has a loaded trailer, that is really taking their lives in their hands that he is paying attention and not distracted.

Please give semi's the space they need when you are changing lanes, don't cut them off as they can't stop like you can.
