The ball bounced just right for KU to hold on and win. The QB fumbled the ball on 4th and long, then it bounces right up into his hands... as he's rolling out... and he tosses a 20+ yard completion for the first. They eventually get the TD.
Then there is the ball off the helmet; the BYU player jumping on it, but knocking the ball 10 yards toward BYU's end zone (and away from 3 other BYU players; the lone KU player recovering the fumble at the 3. Note: The BYU player that was hit in the head didn't even turn around until after the play. For some reason he kept running through the end zone. The guy guarding him recovered the ball.
A false start on the 4th down play. Ouch. Less luck as much as a mistake.
Jakes INT lost the game. If BYU scores a TD or even a FG, BYU wins. It doesn't change much of the game.... except BYU gets a chance to just kick a 29 yard FG at the end.
Should BYU have won. No. They didn't do what was needed.
