I could see it working for a woman (especially the "strong, independent" Subaru crowd), but feel like they reflect very poorly on male drivers.
The one person I know with a Maverick really likes it—but he was also (and I'm being 100% serious) on good terms with his wife's boyfriend. In general terms that was already my perception of Maverick drivers, so that little tidbit was the nail in the coffin for me.
