BTW, if you go back and watch the Kansas D, it was almost like they knew what
was coming when BYU got into the Red Zone.

The Kansas D was sitting on routes, and specific plays.

I'm not saying ARod is not good at scheming and play design. IMO, he is very good at exactly what you are talking about. Where ARod struggles is in 2 areas. 1- I believe he outsmarts himself sometimes. 2- Understanding of his personnel, and then the implementation and utilization of his personnel.

At the end of the first half when BYU was inside the Kansas 10, on first down, in that spread formation, the ball should have been handed to LJ. How LJ did not factor into the Red Zone situations is criminal.

In red zone situations, IMO, LJ and Sione Moa are much better options in the run game than Ropati.

Throwing a fade to BYU's best blocking TE is a lack of understanding of BYU's personnel. If you are going to have that as an option, they should have had either Ryner Swanson or Keanu Hill in at TE for that play.

When it comes to Jake Retzlaff, he has shown a propensity to not make the best decisions when given multiple option plays in the red zone. Why ARod continues to put him in that situation is a head scratcher to say the least.
