start. If SMU got out of its own way, if KSU and Baylor didn’t spot us ~20 points, and of we didn’t win due to late game heroics or a last minute miracle, we’d be closer to closer to a record that accurately reflects how good we are.

This is a 7/8 win team who worked, and planned and lucked its way into a likely 10 win season and a good bowl.

ASU is going to pick our D apart and clamp down on our impotent offense. That’s an L.

I think we probably beat Houston but are left out of the CCG due to tie breakers. That may be the thing that allows us to stay ranked in the last polls. Then it comes down to luck of the draw for a bowl opponent and then to how lucky we can be in that bowl.

If by another miracle we make it and have to play Colorado they are going to murder our D and shut down our O while trying to showcase Sanders and Hunter for the Heisman. Something like 56-24.

This sucks. I don’t like any of this. I’m not pleased. I’d love to be wrong. I’d love to regain momentum and upset ASU and follow that up with an upset in the CCG game. It just doesn’t seem like there is any luck left over for this team and staff of overachievers.

If we keep riding Retzlaff and ARod in 2025 I think we regress to the mean and end up right around 6-8 wins and likely lose Jay Hill, the only reliable adult in the room. We will extend KS for some reason and then lock in to a similar pattern of playing outside our minds at times and following that up with head scratching losses, as inconsistency is the hallmark of a Sitake coached team. He’s not going to learn how to manage a team when things are close. He’s not going to learn how to use timeouts and manage clock. This is just who he is. So he needs to find a way to delegate those tasks to someone with better decision making abilities.

Looking long term, It’s a bummer we couldn’t sneak one in because as schools start to share $$$ with olayers we are destined to fall behind as BOT reportedly told Sitake we aren’t going to be paying much and so we have to do more with less. That’s gonna kill is from a recruiting standpoint. Hopefully they’ve seen what kind of publicity the school and church get when we are nationally relevant and they decide to let the funding rip. But that seems doubtful.
