My son (diagnosed when he was 15) served in the Tempe, Arizona mission and spent all his 2 years in the metro areas (Phoenix, Chandler, Tempe, etc.) so that he could be close for his monthly infusions. He had a few short rough patches of health issues while serving, but was definitely blessed overall to work hard and have a great experience.
