He said they don’t question calls if they’re questionable or not. They will talk to them if there’s an issue where they didn’t apply the proper standard or point out improper procedures ( not lined up right spot or engaging with coaches etc)
They review games and other questionable calls every week before game day in their hotels. The leagues send them things to review ( this was in the 90s). They don’t try to influence referees calls except to be fair. They don’t want them hesitant to make calls when there’s a violation. So I doubt this story especially over one call which many said was correct.
