Our 2nd TO. You can see our sub coming off the field at the 20- second mark of the play clock. The Ute DT jogs in at the 12-second mark as we’re breaking the huddle. The departing Ute sub doesn’t start to slowly jog off until there are 7-seconds left.
I understand that the intention of the rule is to prevent the offense from trying to gain an advantage by not giving the D time to sub, but if the O substitutes with 20 seconds left on the playclock, that’s clearly enough time. It’s an absurd rule, and leave it to the Utes to find the most cheap, annoying way to exploit it
