I worked at a company for just short of 30 years. Not much pay and the company was in decline, but I had a variety of responsibilities. Work life balance was awesome. Thought a raise was necessary before retirement.

Moved to a successful company 4 years ago but I struggle to finish each day. Pay is good. Work life balance is crap. I will be lucky to last another year.

Be careful in any profession change.
