I do think for perception purposes it is good to have a couple teams that challenge for conference championships every year. UCF is not there and a ways to go, but if they can build up their program and show sustained success, they could become a powerhouse in those fertile recruiting grounds and big population to support them. Hard to overtake FSU and Florida, but if they could take some of that it would be big. I wonder if CU dies once Prime leaves, but they are in a city with big population and were really good in the 90s. Can they recapture that magic and become something again?
I think KSU/OSU/BYU are obvious brands to carry the B12 banner, just have to start making some noise in B12 playoffs for them to regain some of the credibility lost when their 2 big blue blood brands left.
