It’s pretty recent, 1-2 years. But they started letting people clock in from an app. They could track where the employee was when they clocked, they could also compare time clock stamp to when they log in to work stations. It provided enough information that managers could pull footage to show time theft. It’s not something they actively look at, I think, but it helps them get rid of employees that are suspected of not doing their jobs.
