Crypto as it’s currently used provides no real economic value to society. Unlike other securities (mentioned above) crypto is a zero sum game.

Some claim it’s the future of currency, but do you ever use it for purchases? It’s far too volatile to be practical. If crypto’s only value is to store and grow wealth, just realize that every gain has to be offset by a loss somewhere. Can’t argue with math.
