Utah took absolutely every opportunity it had to try and damage BYU. Fortunately we have a national fan base with great resources and athletes who want to be here, so they were unsuccessful, but their president and athletic director actively tried to kill our plan to go independent. Their athletic director and football coach cancelled rivalry games for pointless replacements to damage our ability to schedule good games. Coach 80k... well, I actually miss that guy because he did so much damage to their program, but he tried to damage our basketball program too. And of course, we had to put up with more than a decade of absolute nonsense about the Pac 12 and how we'd never win another recruiting battle blah blah blah blah.

Since I live in California, I have not personally interacted with a Utah fan in many years given that they all live in a 25 mile radius of Salt Lake City. But if it ever happens and I don't simply ignore them, I will be pleasant and cordial. But I will always root for them to lose every game, and if we beat them 50 years in a row by 50 points, I will still root for the Cougs to beat them by 60 in year 51.
