Is why they name a coach in waiting He probably promised this last recruiting class he would see them through and then so there isn't negative recruiting against them name the next head coach for the upcoming classes he won't see him through. I think in 2027 he gets something like $8M a yr. Would be nice to go out with that for your last year. Probably boosts his state retirement income.

Then he gets $1M a yr for as long as he wants as a consultant.

I think this year is taking it out of him and if he ends up with a losing record I can see him bailing. I know he is prideful, but there comes a time you have to realize it's not worth it anymore and when you have more money than you will spend it's hard to keep going at these stressful jobs(not that I know🤣)
