Guys on the radio this morning were talking about how the timing seems to be perfect for KW to step aside:
--Scalley is already designated as the "Head Coach in Waiting"
--UU already needs to hire a new OC this offseason
--It makes no sense to hire an OC this year and then have a brand new new Head Coach in a year or two (although I guess Whitt could technically involve Scalley in that decision this year so that he isn't stuck with somebody he didn't want).
--Clearly there are problems with the UU football program and they need a fresh start, so UU might as well rip off the band-aid now.

Even with all of that, I think KW is prideful enough that he won't want to go out on a downer season like this year has been (and will continue to be).
