I know it happens, but I'm not aware of that kind of donor money at BYU.

Maybe that changes or the money is just waiting for the right circumstances and opportunity, but I've always seen BYU as a cash poor program compared to its peers. Like I said in another thread, wasn't Holmoe just passing the hat due to a $20 million budget shortfall?

At a cost of $256M in 2010. Safe to say that a similar renovation would cost much more today. All for 7-8 events per yr.

Stanford’s was paid for by donors. Baylor brand new stadium cost $250m and $180 of it was paid by donors.
