I sauté a whole cut up onion for about 10 min in a good amount of olive oil. Then add 5-10 cloves of garlic the last 60 sec. Then I add in a can of San marzano tomatoes and let it simmer for about 45-60 min. Add salt in and taste it a bit. Then take it out, blend it all and add in a cup of the pasta water. If you want it creamy add a cup of cream and a cup of Parmesan.
