I went to the game with my family.
The trip started out rough. We had decided to go to Disney World for the few days prior but we barely rode any rides. My wife and I had a big fight about paying more money for the new fast pass, but I wouldn’t budge. Waiting in line builds character.
My only hope to salvage to trip was to have an amazing experience at the game. As we got to the stadium we were approached by a UCF staffer who invited us to enter a free raffle. We were completely out of money from the days spent at Disney, so I was hoping we could win some concession vouchers or something. About 15 minutes later I got a phone call that we had won!
To be honest, I didn’t even know what the prize was, but they gave us some free food and a stadium tour. My starving family was so appreciative.
The tour was cool, but the grand finale blew my mind. We get up into the box area where the statisticians and clock operator sit and then the staffer lays it on us. We actually won the opportunity to be the clock operator for the whole game! My kids (10, 10 and 6) and I all took turns. I’m sure that we made a couple of mistakes but I don’t think anyone noticed.
